How to get there:

The main venue for interventa Hallstatt 2024 is the Höhere Technische Bundeslehranstalt (HTBLA) Hallstatt.
Exemplary for the entire region, Hallstatt is to become an inspiring centre of regional and international networking and interdisciplinary exchange.

HTBLA Hallstatt
Aufsatzplatz 192, 4830 Hallstatt

The HTBLA Hallstatt is located in the district of Lahn, which is around 10 minutes by foot from the historic town center.

As Hallstatt is a popular travel destination, especially in the summer months, recent years have shown that the car parks are full very early. Unfortunately, interventa Hallstatt cannot provide any additional parking options. In order to ensure you a stress-free and sustainable journey we would greatly welcome your decision to arrive by public transport.

Visitors arriving by public transport have two options:

Many Regional Express trains stop at Hallstatt railway station. The embarkation point for the boats that provide transport to Hallstatt Market at times coordinated with the arrival of trains is located right next to the station. Visitors arriving at the market must walk for around ten minutes through the picturesque old town to reach the HTBLA.
The boat trip costs €3.50 and is payable in cash.

You can find more information on the website of Hallstätter Schifffahrt.

If you would like to shorten your journey, we recommend the project Regional Express. The regional train and the surrounding landscape from Gmunden to Bad Aussee serve as a stage for this audiovisual docu-fiction.

Bus routes 543 and 544 serve the bus stop at Hallstatt Lahn (Seegelände), which is less than 100 meters from the HTBLA. The bus journey offers a speedy alternative to the boat crossing and lasts, for example, just six minutes from Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen railway station. Buses leave approximately every 30 minutes. More detailed information is available at ÖBB/OÖVV, where real-time timetables can be accessed.

Regular bus tickets start at €2.60. A day ticket for public transport in the whole of Upper Austria and the entire Salzkammergut, which covers three provinces (Salzburger Land, Styria), is available for €19.90. This includes up to 2 adults and 4 children/young people below the age of 15.

Private cars, including the cars of overnight guests, may not enter the historic heart of Hallstatt. Parking is available at P1 (Salinenplatz 4) and P2 (Kohlstattweg). This can be paid for in cash or with Maestro, Visa, or a Mastercard at the appropriate pay stations. In addition to this, car parks P3 and P4 can be found further from the town (Leisure Center (L547)).
